Leaders of the Tudun Wada Youth Forum have issued a press release stating their unapologetic grievance over the poor power supply in the Tudun Wada Jos community.

The statement reads below:
PRESS RELEASE
TUDUN WADA YOUTH LEADERSHIP SLAMS PERSISTENT POWER OUTAGES, ACCUSES THE JOS ELECTRICITY DISTRIBUTION COMPANY AUTHORITIES OF NEGLIGENCE AND GROSS FAILURE
Tudun Wada Community under the auspices of The Youth Leadership have issued a stern and unapologetic condemnation of the shameful, epileptic power supply that has held the entire community hostage for months, describing the situation as an outright failure of responsibility by the “Jos Electricity Distribution Company” and relevant government authorities.
In a strongly worded statement, the Youth Leadership and other critical stakeholders declared that the community has endured enough darkness, enough excuses, and enough disrespect, insisting that the current electricity crisis is not just incompetence but clear neglect of the welfare and rights of the people of Tudun Wada community. “We are tired of being treated as second class citizens. We are tired of the lies, the empty promises, and the irresponsible silence of those in charge.

The power situation in Tudun Wada is not just unacceptable, it is disgraceful and demonic. It is a known fact across Plateau State that Tudun-Wada community are famous for generating and even deciding political votes. But yet, deprived by basic amenities from those in authority after election”

A COMMUNITY PUSHED TO THE EDGE:
The youth leadership noted that the power supply has deteriorated to the point where:
- Businesses have been crippled literally because of the perpetual lack of power supply.
- Students are forced to study in darkness.
- Security risks have surged at night due to the epileptic power supply in our community.
- Families are spending hard earned income on fuel instead of food, how pathetic!
The youth leadership described the situation as a direct assault on the economic, educational, and social well being of the entire community.
UNANSWERED QUESTIONS THAT NEEDS URGENT RESPONSE:
The statement questions why Tudun Wada continues to suffer:
- Why are other communities receiving better supply while Tudun Wada remains in darkness?
- Why has JED failed to provide explanations or timelines?
- Why must residents pay full bills for half baked service?
“If this is not deliberate neglect, then it is outright incompetence and both are unacceptable.”
OUR DEMANDS DEVOID OF NEGOTIATIONS:
The Tudun Wada Youth Leadership demands:
- Mass metering of prepaid meters across Tudun-Wada Communities, and that should be done with immediate alacrity.
- Immediate restoration of steady power supply.
- A full technical audit and public report on the faulty infrastructure and cogent reason for the epileptic power supply.
- An emergency stakeholders’ meeting within seven days.
- Clear, written timelines for sustainable improvement.
WARNING: THE PATIENCE OF TUDUN WADA COMMUNITY IS NOT UNLIMITED
The youth leadership declared that while it remains committed to peaceful engagement, it will no longer tolerate disrespect or silence.
“If our demands are ignored, the JED authorities should be prepared for massive peaceful protests, legal actions, and formal petitions to national regulators. We will not be intimidated, and we will not back down.”
IN CONCLUSION: The Tudun Wada community refuses to remain in darkness, both literally and figuratively. The people deserve better, and this time, we will not be silenced, deceived, or pacified.
