GOV. MUTFWANG HAILS NEW PLATEAU MINISTERIAL APPOINTMENT

Plateau State Governor, Barr. Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, has called on citizens of the state to embrace unity and cohesion, saying only a united Plateau can achieve lasting peace, progress, and national relevance.

The governor made the call during a grand reception held on Thursday, November 6, 2025, in Abuja, in honour of Dr. Bernard Doro, who was recently appointed Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

The event drew top government officials, lawmakers, traditional rulers, and dignitaries from within and outside Nigeria, reflecting a shared spirit of Plateau identity and solidarity.

Governor Mutfwang expressed gratitude to President Tinubu for appointing Plateau sons and daughters to key national positions, describing it as a sign of confidence and an opportunity for the state to showcase excellence.

“This evening is a celebration of what God can do,” he said. “When national opportunities are shared, they are done based on states, not parties. We must therefore speak with one voice and project Plateau as one indivisible people.”

He commended Dr. Doro for his professionalism, humility, and diaspora experience, assuring him of the state government’s full support in his new role.

In his response, Dr. Bernard Doro described his appointment as a divine trust and a call to serve humanity with humility and diligence. He pledged to focus on programmes that would uplift the poor and vulnerable across Nigeria while calling for collective efforts to fight poverty and rebuild communities.

Speaker of the Plateau State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Naanlong Daniel, also emphasized the need for unity among Plateau leaders, stating that only a united Plateau can attract more development and federal attention.

The event ended on a note of gratitude and optimism, with attendees praising President Tinubu for his confidence in Plateau’s capable hands and expressing belief in Dr. Doro’s capacity to deliver on his new national assignment.
